The lamb cut creates an adorable, lamb-like silhouette by clipping the body short while leaving the legs fuller and fluffier. The face is usually trimmed clean or left with a soft, rounded shape depending on breed and preference. This style originated with Poodles but has become hugely popular with Doodle breeds. The lamb cut is an excellent choice for dogs prone to body matting because the short body eliminates tangles where they form most often, while the fluffy legs add visual interest and keep the style from looking too severe. Grooming appointments are needed every 6-8 weeks, and between visits, focus your brushing on the legs — that is where mats will try to sneak in. The lamb cut is especially flattering on Poodles, Bichon Frises, and Bedlington Terriers, giving them a soft, elegant appearance without the high maintenance of a show coat.
