You booked what looked like a pet-friendly vacation rental on Airbnb, VRBO, or a property management site in Panama City Beach. Now you're finding out there are restrictions you didn't know about — a weight limit, a breed restriction, an HOA rule the host never mentioned, or a "no pets unattended" policy that makes the rental completely unworkable with a dog.
This scenario is extremely common at PCB, and we handle it regularly. Call (850) 257-5776. Animal Friends Pet Care is 15 minutes away in Panama City and we will get your dog taken care of so you can salvage your vacation.
The Vacation Rental Pet Policy Problem at PCB
Panama City Beach has thousands of short-term vacation rentals. Many are listed as "pet-friendly" on booking platforms, but the actual policies are often more nuanced than the listing suggests. Common issues we hear from callers:
- "The listing said pets OK but the host just told me the HOA bans dogs over 30 lbs"
- "The VRBO listing allowed pets but the lease says I can't leave the dog unattended"
- "My Airbnb is a beachfront condo and the building rules just said no dogs at all"
- "The host says my dog's breed isn't allowed even though nothing in the listing said that"
In every one of these cases, the answer is the same: your dog needs somewhere professional to stay, and we're the closest option in Bay County.
