Animal Friends Pet Care understands that German Shepherd boarding isn't one-size-fits-all. With a confident, courageous, and smart temperament and very high — need structured exercise and mental stimulation exercise needs, German Shepherds require boarding staff who know the breed. Our team has years of experience caring for German Shepherds and tailors every stay to their specific needs.
Separation anxiety & settling in: German Shepherds can be anxious in new environments; a pre-boarding tour and familiar items help significantly. We send photo and video updates so you can see them comfortable and relaxed throughout their stay.
Exercise & socialization: Can be reserved or protective; best with compatible play partners after careful introduction. (That is the breed's general temperament. In boarding, your German Shepherd never mixes with dogs from other households: play time is one-on-one with our staff.) Our facility features a commercial-grade agility park and supervised outdoor play areas. German Shepherds get structured exercise — not just potty breaks — customized to their energy level.
Feeding & health: Good appetites; sensitive stomachs are common in the breed, so their regular food is essential. We administer medications on schedule at no extra charge, and our team monitors for any health concerns throughout the stay.
Every boarding suite is private, climate-controlled (68-72°F year-round), and equipped with a 24/7 live camera you can access from any device. After Hurricane Michael, we invested $120,000 in solar power, battery banks, and a private deep well — making us the only Panama City boarding facility prepared for multi-day outages.
German Shepherd owners across Panama City, Lynn Haven, and Bay County trust Animal Friends for overnight and extended boarding — and the 24/7 live cameras mean you can check on your German Shepherd anytime, from anywhere.
