Our nail service uses a guillotine clipper followed by a dremel grind that smooths the nail edge and prevents scratching. Most dogs are done in 5-10 minutes. We've been doing this in Panama City since 2013 and we handle even the most nail-averse dogs calmly and efficiently.
Why Regular Nail Trims Matter
When a dog's nails get too long, they shift the way the dog walks — distributing weight incorrectly across the paw and up the leg. Over time, this causes joint stress and can lead to pain and orthopedic problems, especially in senior dogs. If you can hear your dog's nails clicking on tile or hardwood, they're already too long and affecting gait.
The other problem: the longer you wait, the longer the quick (the blood vessel inside the nail) grows. A dog that hasn't had a trim in months may need several trims over time to safely get back to the right length. Coming in monthly prevents this entirely.
