The Double Doodle is a Doodle squared — combining two of the most popular doodle breeds. With three-quarters of their genetics coming from retrievers and one-quarter from Poodle, Double Doodles tend to have wavy, soft coats that are more manageable than first-generation doodles. The Poodle curl gene has been diluted, resulting in a coat that sheds slightly more but mats less aggressively. Brushing 2-3 times per week is typically sufficient. Their friendly, outgoing personality makes them excellent grooming clients. Standard doodle cuts work perfectly. These are large dogs that require a groomer with adequate space and handling ability for dogs in the 50-80 lb range.
